California, Here I Come!
After not having been in L.A. forever, I’m finally returning to present The Drag Explosion on Friday, April 3rd!
It’s going to be my first slideshow presentation outside of New York and I am beyond excited.
Sponsoring the event is the bicoastal Dirty Looks experimental queer screening series (which presented The Drag Explosion last year in NYC at Participant Gallery) and the ONE Archives, which is the largest repository of LGBTQ historical materials in the world (It was founded in L.A. in 1952!)
The ONE Archive includes an “imaginary museum” called MOTHA (The Museum of Transgender Hirstory & Art). My presentation is in conjunction with the museum’s latest exhibit, “Transgender Hirstory in 99 Objects: Legends and Mythologies.”
The ONE Archive is located at the University of Southern California, but I”ll be presenting in the heart of queersville at the West Hollywood Council Chambers. You know it’s a progressive city when the town hall is the setting for a drag queen slideshow!
Please spread the word!
